Advanced Mission 3:

Highlander

This is a Mission format that can be played when you have an 'Exclusive' booking, M2D (Midnight to Dawn), at Boot Camp or when their may be no other public players in your mission. Ask your Mission Controller if this format is available for your mission. Can be played as

The Scene

Players are 'Immortals', struggling to eliminate all opponents and claim 'The Prize' as the last player remaining.

Game Play

Players have unlimited shots and unlimited missiles. At the start of the mission, both shots and missiles fire very slowly. As the mission progresses however, this speed increases until it reaches a maximum at the climax of the mission.

Zapping players will build up special points, but the only ways to eliminate opponents is to either zap all their lives until they have none left, or missile them. When a player is removed from the game by being missiled their score and special points are awarded to the player who eliminated them.

'Destroying' in-field targets also awards special points. Special points can be used to activate the following -

  1. RESET - Resets the players weapon, allowing a missile or another shot on an opponent who was just zapped. To activate - hold trigger in while 'up'. Costs 10 special points initially but drops to 5 special points towards the end of the mission.
  2. SHIELD - Provides temporary protection from missiles. To activate- hold trigger in while 'down'. Lasts until player is reactivated or 10 seconds passes. Costs 5 special points initially, increases to 30 special points towards the end of the mission.

Note

  • As the mission progresses, down time increases slightly, Players also become more vulnerable to being zapped while they are 'down'. At the end of the mission it is possible to zap players repeatedly while they are 'down' without needing to use RESETS. Towards the end of the mission, missiles become so quick that it can be difficult to zap an opponent with normal shots. Use quick snap shots to get a normal shot off before the missile tones begin.
  • The mission will automatically end when the time limit expires or only 1 player remains.
  • Warbots are not active.

Scoring

  • Zap Opponent - 100 points, 1 special point
  • Missile opponent - 500 points (+ opponents score), 2 special points (plus opponents special points)
  • Destroy in-field target - 801 points
  • Game time - 12-15 minutes including briefing, suit-up etc.
